Development and application of compressors in the petrochemical field

Compressors are important key equipment in the petrochemical industry. Generally, centrifugal compressors, reciprocating compressors, and screw compressors are commonly used. Most compressor conveying media are petroleum mixed gas, natural gas, nitrogen, hydrogen, oxygen, chlorine, methane, ethylene, propylene, ammonia, nitrogen dioxide, etc. Most petrochemical production units are continuously produced under high temperature, high pressure, flammable, explosive, corrosive, toxic, and long cycle conditions. Therefore, the compressor unit for petrochemical production must achieve good overall performance, high efficiency, compact structure, small footprint, stable and reliable operation, trouble-free operation time of more than 20,000 hours, and can meet the needs of various working conditions.


The application is as follows:


1.Compressors for ethylene industry


The number of compressors in ethylene production units is the largest, such as cracking gas compressors, propylene compressors, and ethylene compressors in ethylene cracking units; screw compressors in butadiene extraction units; cycle gas compressors in polyethylene units, and Ethylene compressors; cycle gas compressors, propylene compressors, nitrogen compressors, and hydrogen compressors for polypropylene plants; cycle gas compressors for ethylene glycol plants; chlorine compressors for vinyl chloride plants; PTA and acrylonitrile plants Process air compressors and hydrogen compressors. Among them, the cracking gas compressor, propylene compressor and ethylene compressor of the ethylene cracking device are commonly called "three engines", and the energy consumption accounts for 20% to 40% of the total energy consumption of the device. Therefore, reducing the energy consumption of the compressor is of great significance to reduce the energy consumption of the device.


2. Compressors for oil refining industry


The gas compressors commonly used in oil refining production are mainly axial compressors and gas-rich compressors for catalytic cracking units; pre-hydrogenation cycle compressors, reforming hydrogen boosters, and circulating hydrogen compressors for catalytic reforming units; hydrofining Centrifugal cycle hydrogen compressor and reciprocating new hydrogen compressor of hydrocracking unit and coking gas compressor in coking unit.


3.Compressor for fertilizer industry


The gas compressors used in fertilizer production mainly include process air compressors, synthesis gas compressors, carbon dioxide compressors, nitrogen compressors, and ammonia compressors. The air compressors in the air separation units and air compressor stations of the auxiliary production units mainly include air compressors, oxygen compressors, nitrogen compressors, and argon compressors. Due to the continuous development of large-scale ammonia plants, the user's requirements for technical indicators such as the energy consumption, reliability, and supporting level of compressor units are also increasing.
